Can Arrogate continue his impressive form?

Meydan hosts a star-studded card on Dubai World Cup night on Saturday, kicking off at 11:45 GMT, with the main event at 16:45.

The Dubai World Cup is a Thoroughbred horse race held annually since 1996 and contested at the Meydan Racecourse. It was the world's richest horse race until it was surpassed by the Pegasus World Cup in 2017.

Here is a look at what I think are the best bets on the card with my race-by-race selections...

11:45: Meydan - North America 2/1 NAP.

Satish Seemar has done wonders with the son of Dubawi who failed to cut the mustard for Charlie Appleby. A winner of four starts from four runs for Seemar, all coming over a mile at Meydan, the five-year-old could get an easy lead in this race and despite the step up in grade, I fancy him to win again.

12:50: Meydan - Beautiful Romance 15/2 Each Way and Kingfisher 33/1 Each Way.

Beautfiul Romance beat the favourite for this race Vaziribad in a Group Three event over a slightly shorter trip of one mile and six furlongs last time and whilst Saeed bin Suroor's charge needs to show he will be as good over two-miles I see no reason why he can't uphold that form.

At a price, Kingfisher for Aidan O'Brien is also interesting. Second in the 2014 Irish Derby and 2015 Ascot Gold Cup, when well backed in the latter in which he met trouble in running, the six-year-old son of Galileo has to overcome a 509 day absence from the track but he is classy and at a price might just run a big race here.

1:25: Meydan - Thunder Snow 9/4.

Winner of the UAE 2000 Guineas last time and whilst this race does look a hot contest, he could be the one in what looks an open race.

2:00: Meydan - Ertijaal 6/4.

The speed machine seems better over five furlongs and has to show that he can better his second in this race last year over six furlongs. That may be a tough ask but he is a really classy sort and having won over this trip in the past, I fancy him to just last home.

2:35: Meydan - Reynaldothewizard 10/1 Each Way and Morawij 12/1 Each Way.

The old boy Reynaldothewizard is getting on now but won over course and distance in a Listed contest last time and always gives his true running. Morawij is also interesting after winning a Group Three event over course and distance last time. He remains unexposed despite being a seven-year-old and could be capable of better.

3:30: Meydan - Ribchester 3/1 and Vivlos 25/1 Each Way.

Richard Fahey's Ribchester won the Group One Jacques La Marois last year and he looks interesting in the Dubai Turf. At a price, Japanese filly Vivlos who won a Group One in her native Kapan in October is interesting, particularly as she might have needed the run when fifth at Nakayama last time.

4:05: Meydan - Highland Reel 4/1.

I'm all over Highland Reel. A globetrotting superstar for Aidan O'Brien, the admirable five-year-old son of Galileo won the King George and Breeders' Cup Turf last year and despite this being his first start of the year, if he gets an easy lead on the front-end in this event, he will be hard to peg back under Ryan Moore.

4:45: Meydan - Arrogate 1/3 and Hoppertunity 20/1 Each Way (also 9/4 Top 3 Finish).

Arrogate should win this event pretty easily and it might pay to put stable companion from Bob Baffert's yard Hoppertunity in the forecast. Decent at his best, the horse was third in this race last year and can give his stable-mate the most to think about.

3/1 Win Double

11:45: Meydan - North America

4:45: Meydan - Arrogate
