And even if a deal with United fails to materialise, a move away from the Saints looks increasingly likely, as Fonte is just 6/5 to join another Premier League club this summer.
Elsewhere, the optimistic punter can get odds of 8/1 for the Portuguese defender to win the Premier League this season.
Ladbrokes News' Alex Apati said: "Odds of Fonte leaving Southampton are continuing to drop and it might not be long before we see him in a United shirt."
