ODDSbibleRacing's Best Bets From Monday's Action At Wetherby, Windsor And More

Monday.

We had a very decent weekend and here's hoping for another good week.

Plenty of racing to get stuck into on Monday where Brighton, Wetherby and Windsor (evening) host flat meetings on the turf. Kempton and Towcester (evening) host jumps meetings, whilst a jumps card also takes place at Killarney in Ireland with the Killarney National the highlight.

Here are Danny Archer's selections...

2:10: Brighton - Golden Easter 4/6.

Well-bred filly who ran well in three starts for Kevin Ryan. Has joined the undisputed sprint king and whilst she has a couple of pounds to find on official ratings, this daughter of Distorted Humour should go well.

3:50: Brighton - Diamond Bear 3/1.

Sir Mark Prescott's charge won over course and distance in October which is always a positive here. She did hang to her left on that occasion but this daughter of First Dude represents a stable in fine fettle and she should have improved over the winter.

4:40: Kempton - Spader 15/8.

Dan Skelton's charge was set to register his first success in this sphere at Stratford last time but he made a terrible mistake at the final flight which ruined his chances. Again in handicap company today, he can make amends.

5:10: Killarney - Jetz 7/4.

Jessica Harrington's charge has run with credit in bumpers and whilst he does pull very hard, this son of Flemensfirth is bred to be quite smart as he is related to Champion Hurdle winner Jezki and the talented Jetson. Hurdles may just be the making of him.

5:40: Killarney - Lachares 13/2 Each Way.

The four-year-old gelding has been in excellent form this season and whilst it was disappointing that he was beaten over hurdles last time, he might have found that trip too short and with Davy Russell in the plate, he looks a great each-way bet.

7:10: Killarney - Woodland Opera 7/4.

Jessica Harrington's charge landed the spoils and plenty of bets at the Punchestown last time and he looks a potentially top class operator. He can see off some more established rivals in this event if over his Punchestown exploits.

6:30: Towcester - Seelateralligator evs.

Finished ahead of some of today's rivals at Warwick last time and if the five-year-old improves her jumping, she should prove tough to beat for a yard who have their horses in stellar form.

8:30: Towcester - Kaveman 7/4.

A horse I've been waiting for as he finished a bitterly disappointing at sixth on his rules debut at Warwick in soft ground before finishing third at Fontwell earlier this month. He looked to get outpaced the last day despite leading throughout and the slight step up in trip is in his favour.

4:30: Wetherby - Newt 13/8 NAP (5pts Win).

Sir Mark Prescott is a dab hand at improving maiden runners to become handicap starlets and this daughter of Sixties Icon looks a likely improver entering handicap company. Running over an inadequate trip of seven furlong and one mile at the back-end of last term, the three-year-old is bred to be smart, being closely related to Group One winner Beaten Up, the very classy group performer Harris weed and Vow, who ran in the Investec Oaks.

With that in mind, the step up in trip to one mile and six furlongs is going to suit her massively and I strongly fancy her to do the business. She could be one of Sir Mark Prescott's handicap stars of the year if her breeding is anything to go by. Keep a watchful eye on her.

5:20: Windsor - Highland Cradle 13/8

Finished second to decent sort of David Simcock's (Bless Him) at Chelmsford last time. He has the services of Ryan Moore and he looked a colt who remained inexperienced that day. A son of Bated Breath, he is related to a couple of Group winners and this is his time to get his head in front.

5:50: Windsor - Crowned Eagle 5/2.

Tough to last past John Gosden's well-bred colt who has Derby and Queen Vase entries and won easily at Nottingham last time. A likely player on handicap debut.

6:50: Windsor - Time To Exceed 7/2.

I was impressed with his victory at Leicester last time as he came clear nicely Moore to win a tad cosily. Remains unexposed and I fancy him to land the spoils.
