James Norton, the star of television show 'Happy Valley' is now the 2/1 favourite to play 007 after receiving a flood of support from punters, forcing some bookies to slash his odds and temporarily suspend betting.

Tom Hiddleston had been the bookmakers' odds-on favourite to succeed Daniel Craig as Bond for some time when Craig seemingly called time on the role following the filming of the series' last instalment 'Spectre'.

Hiddleston's relationship with Taylor Swift is rumoured to be the reason the 35 year-old's chances at playing the seventh incarnation of the famous spy have plummeted with sources citing the fact he has now become too high-profile to play Bond.

Poldark star Aidan Turner is the second favourite to play the titular character at 4/1, while former favourites Idris Elba and Tom Hardy have now drifted to 10/1 ahead of 14/1 shot Damian Lewis.

If you're a fan of massive outsiders then Ross Kemp, Jeremy Corbyn and Alan Curbishley can all be backed at 1000/1.

I'm backing Curbishley, who do you want to see play Bond? Drop us a comment below.
