ODDSbibleRacing's Best Bets From Thursday's Action At Chelmsford, Cork, Ludlow and Wolverhampton

Stone looks rock solid at Chelmsford

Following another winning NAP yesterday, here are Thursday's selections.

Racing takes place over the jumps at Chepstow and Ludlow whilst Wolverhampton in the afternoon and Chelmsford in the evening host All-Weather meetings. Cork has a jumps card in Ireland.

We have gone for a bit of a punt today, targeting some bigger price horses, so here are today's selections...

Stone looks rock solid at Chelmsford

7:20: Chelmsford - Kenstone 5/1 Each Way.

Adrian Wintle has done a sterling job with the grey gelding who has figures of 11221 for the trainer. This is a very competitive event but a course and distance winner is always preferable round Chelmsford and the four-year-old son of Kendargent should give his running once more.

7:50: Chelmsford - Keene's Pointe 12/1 Each Way.

Steph Hollinshead's charge is now a seven-year-old and whilst he only ran on Monday, he looks well-rated. This is ultra-competitive but at a price, he could represent a decent bit of each way value, particularly given he now wears a visor for the first-time.

8:20: Chelmsford - Atalante 11/8 NAP.

Jeremy Noseda's filly won on her debut for the Newmarket handler over course and distance, quickening up smartly to win a maiden by four lengths. Adam Kirby rides the four-year-old daughter of Cape Cross and she is taken to win what looks a weak event.

8:50: Chelmsford - Rosealee 4/1.

Was a neck second at Lingfield earlier this month and dropping from a class 4 into a class 5 for this event and also down in trip to five furlongs, the daughter of Zebedee is bred to be a little bit better than this grade and hopefully the drop in class and trip should see her make the improvement to win this event.

Bar to get the drinks in at Cork

6:10: Cork - Back Bar Evens Next Best.

There are plenty of short-priced horses running at Cork, but I'm very keen to wait for the last race of the card with Gordon Elliott's Back Bar. Second at Thurles on his rules debut, when well backed, the five-year-old gelding of Brian Boru should have learnt a lot from that run and with that experience on board, he can go one place better in this two-mile event.

Galway Jack to have Irish eyes smiling at Ludlow

4:40: Ludlow - Galway Jack 5/4.

Caroline Bailey's gelding was a very smart handicap chaser in his time and has excelled for the switch to hunter chases this year. Impressive when beating the decent Ardea in a contest at Wetherby in February, the 12-year-old followed up at Leicester later the same month. This doesn't look that much tougher and he is taken to complete the hat-trick with victory in this event.

5:45: Ludlow - Crucial Role 6/1 Each Way.

Henry Daly's five-year-old son of Westerner has improved in both starts and ran very well behind what looked a smart horse (Lad Of Luck) at Chepstow last time in soft ground having led throughout that contest. The going at Ludlow is soft so he will handle underfoot conditions and at a bit of a price, he is interesting in a competitive finish to the meeting.

Clubs looks to trump rivals

2:20: Wolverhampton - Mr Red Clubs 3/1.

Michael Appleby's charge has won seven times at the track and with Jane Elliott taking a valuable 7lb off, he is interesting, particularly following a decent second at Chelmsford last week.

2:55: Wolverhampton - Lady Turpin 2/1.

Won on her fibresand debut at Southwell last time and whilst the tapeta surface at Wolverhampton offers a different challenge, he looks pretty interesting for Richard Fahey.

3.75/1 Win Double

6:10: Cork - Back Bar Next Best

8:20: Chelmsford - Atalante NAP
