Stage 19 is the penultimate mountain stage of this year's tour, and is one likely to produce fireworks and a grand TV spectacle.

This is one of the last chances for the rest of the GC contenders to make inroads into Froome's lead in the general classification so expect attacks from the punchy, exciting climbers like Alejandro Valverde, Nairo Quintana and Romain Bardet, all looking to further their positions within the general classification.

Team Sky will likely take the defensive stance on this stage so will be happy to let a large breakaway go to mop up the time bonuses on the finish line.

However, Movistar will be looking to launch their two pronged attack of Valverde and Quintana so will likely be on the offensive for the majority of the day. If a couple of Movistar riders make it into the large days break then expect this dual pronged attack to launch later in the stage.

Because of this, the top tip for the day is Nairo Quintana, the stage's parkour and summit finish suits him and he'll be looking for at least a stage win to take away from one of his worst tours to date.

As ever Froome is not one to rule out but due to the defensive nature of Team Sky, don't expect him to be launching up the road in search of a stage win.

An outsiders for this stage is likely be Rafal Majka, looking to extends his lead as 'King of the Mountains'.

With the finish being on Mt Blanc, a gem of France, expect French riders to be out in force; trying to gain something out of a tour that has really lacked a dominant French presence. One of these riders will likely be Romain Bardet, a GC contender looking to further his position.

No matter of the winner at the end of the day's stage though; if Froome pulls on yellow with at least a two minute gap intact to 2nd place, do not expect him to relinquish this hold on it for the rest of the tour.
