D-Generation X has been announced as the first inductees for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019.

ESPN first broke the news on the famed WWE stable, confirming that Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, X-Pac and the late Chyna would take their rightful place in the Hall of Fame.

Michaels, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011, also becomes the second two-time inductee.

Of course, the first person to achieve that feat was Ric Flair, who was inducted in the Class of 2008 before he entered the Class of 2012 as a member of The Four Horsemen.

DX rose to prominence during the height of WWE's 'Attitude Era' in the 1990s and were known for their tongue-in-cheek humour.

The original stable consisted of Michaels, Triple H, Chyna and the 'Ravishing' Rick Rude, with them playing a major role in the Monday Night Wars between WWE and WCW.

Following the Heartbreak Kid's initial departure from the company after WrestleMania XIV, Triple H took over the reins of DX and expanded the membership.

He brought in the two members of The New Age Outlaws -- Road Dogg and Billy Gunn -- and X-Pac.

While DX was best known for its impact from 1997 to 2000, Triple H and Michaels would reunite the stable on a number of occasions throughout the 2000s.

The death of Chyna, real name Joan Marie Laurer, in 2016 shook the wrestling world, leaving many fans to want the 'Ninth Wonder of the World' to be recognised for her achievements in WWE.

Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, who is the executive vice president of talent, live events and creative for WWE, spoke about Chyna's inclusion once the announcement was made.

"Look, people believe what they want to believe. When I said a few years ago on the [Stone Cold Steve] Austin podcast, or show, or whatever you want to call it, there's complexities around it," Levesque told ESPN.

"But absolutely, definitely deserves to be in there. It'd be tough to pick a female that was more impactful on the business.

"She did something that was completely so out of left field that it wasn't even being considered when we first brought it up for her to come in.

"It wasn't even a consideration ... it wasn't an easy thing, and against all odds she did all of that. She earned everybody's trust. She won over the fans. She won over the boys. She did all of it.

"From that standpoint, absolutely 100 per cent deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, and should probably be more than once -- as a group, but individually as well.

"There's more complexity to that than meets the eye, but here we are. I'm just happy that it's here. I'm happy for her family, the people that she was close to, that hopefully this is super-meaningful to them. I know it would be to her. It's a great thing -- very deserving."

The 2019 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Saturday 6th April at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City, which is the night before WrestleMania 35.

If you're not down with this induction, then we've got two words for yah.
