WWE has confirmed that WCW icon Goldberg will be facing off against the legendary Undertaker for the first time ever.

The company said that the match would be scheduled for the WWE Super ShowDown, which will be held at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Goldberg's last in-ring match came against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 33 in April 2017, with the 52-year-old wrestler being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year.

Following on from the announcement, Goldberg took to Instagram to share his excitement about stepping into the ring with the Deadman.

"Many contributing factors making it an extremely difficult decision for me to accept this match," he wrote.

"A match against Undertaker would've been a dream 10-15 years ago but it never happened.

"We can't change the past, but somehow the stars have aligned and though it be a bit later than desired, this matchup is still a dream for me.

"I have nothing but respect for Taker, he's a legend, BUT now I do what I do... prep for war one more time."

Back in February, reports started to emerge about The Undertaker retiring from wrestling. However, the 54-year-old wrestler, real name Mark Calaway, came out in March to squash rumours surrounding his future in the WWE.

WWE has also announced that Triple H, the executive vice president of talent, live events and creative for the company, will compete against Randy Orton.

Along with those two matches, the company has confirmed that a 50-man Battle Royal will take place.

According to WWE, other superstars confirmed for the event include WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, AJ Styles and, of course, Lesnar.

Super ShowDown will take place on 7th June and will stream live on the WWE Network.
