Bruno Fernandes' remarkable Man Utd record comes to an end after being ruled out against Crystal Palace

Bruno Fernandes' remarkable Man Utd record comes to an end after being ruled out against Crystal Palace

Bruno Fernandes has been ruled out for tonight's game against Crystal Palace.

Bruno Fernandes' remarkable Manchester United record has come to an end after being ruled out against Crystal Palace.

Man United resume their faltering Premier League campaign at Selhurst Park.

And they will take on Oliver Glasner's side without Fernandes, who is missing from Erik ten Hag's starting XI.

That means the Portuguese is out injured for the first time ever in his Man United career.

He's missed just five league games through illness and suspension since his transfer from Sporting CP.

The 29-year-old has made an impressive 230 appearances across all competitions for Man United since joining the club back in January 2020.

What's more, according to Transfermarkt, this is the first club game he has missed in his WHOLE career through injury.

Mason Mount replaces the star midfielder in the side while Casemiro takes the captain's armband.

Fernandes has been hugely influential at Old Trafford, but he has spoken out about his future amid Sir Jim Ratcliffe's proposed squad overhaul.

"I'm not thinking about other things [than the FA Cup and Euro 2024 with Portugal] at the moment," he said.

"Obviously, it doesn't just depend on me, does it? A player always has to want to be here, but at the same time you have to want him to stay.

"At the moment, I feel there's that on both sides.

"I'm not thinking too much about the future, not least because, obviously, this season hasn't been at the level I'd hoped for, either individually or collectively, so far. We could still end the season by winning the cup. After that, we have an important Euros coming up.

"If you want me to be very honest, if I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, it won't be until after the Euros, because nothing will be able to take my focus away from the FA Cup final and the Euros. There's nothing more important than that."
