Man Utd make FA Cup history with feat that's not been achieved since 1885

Manchester United have helped make FA Cup history with a feat that hasn't been seen in 139 years.

The Red Devils beat Championship side Coventry City in a pulsating semi-final at Wembley.

Scott McTominay opened the scoring for the Red Devils before Harry Maguire doubled the lead with a header just before half-time.

Bruno Fernandes put United 3-0 up with a deflected effort in the second half and the game looked dead and buried.

But Coventry weren't letting up without a fight and hit back with two goals in quick succession from Ellis Simms and Callum O'Hare, before Haji Wright converted a last-minute penalty after Aaron-Wan Bissaka was penalised for a handball.

The Sky Blues thought they had won it at the death in extra time when Victor Torp popped up, only for the goal to be chalked off for an offside in the build-up.

The clash went all the way to penalties, where United prevailed 4-2 after Rasmus Hojlund converted the winning spot-kick.

United's unconvincing win sets up a rematch of last season's FA Cup final against rivals Manchester City, who beat Chelsea 1-0 a day earlier at Wembley.

It was first time that the two had met in the FA Cup final, with City prevailing 2-1 after a stunning brace from captain Ilkay Gundogan - including the fastest goal in the final's history 13 seconds in.

But lighting has struck twice and the two will lock horns at Wembley once again in a historic fixture.

The last time the same two sides were in the FA Cup final for two consecutive seasons was back in 1885.

Blackburn Rovers faced Scottish side Queen's Park and won on both occasions.
