For the second week running, Ashley Young had a night to forget against Barcelona, with the 33-year old highly culpable for Lionel Messi's first goal to open the scoring last night.

The United skipper has been incredibly poor in recent weeks and made an incredible FOUR errors inside 15 seconds to gift Barca an opener in the 16th minute after a promising start from United.

For starters he dilly dallied for too long taking a free-kick, gave the ball away to Ivan Rakitic, tried to be too clever with a Cruyff turn and was then dispossessed for a second time.

The former Aston Villa man tried to make up for his error with a desperate challenge but Messi was already one step ahead and beat him to the ball, before embarrassing Fred and curling one into the bottom corner.

Having lost possession 32 times against Barca in the Champions League quarter final first leg at Old Trafford, as well as not completing any of his 11 attempted cross, United fans were not happy with another shocking performance from him last night:

The decision to give Young a new one-year contract continues to look utterly ridiculous.
