Emmanuel Adebayor hasn't always been known as a footballer who tries too hard and maybe this is why. Because when Adebayor has actually tried it looks like the effort has been slammed back in his face.
The former Manchester City striker spent most of his latter time at Spurs doing nothing before going to Crystal Palace for the second half of last season. Unfortunately he didn't do enough to secure a new deal and he's been without a team all season.
That looked like it was going to change with rumours earlier this week that he'd gone to France to sign for Lyon. The Ligue 1 side are without the injured Alexandre Lacazette for a few months so Ade looked a shoe in. However now reports suggest that he's going to be left without a club again.

On Friday the coach actually told the media, "He has arrived in Lyon and I'll meet him after this press conference." Which seems like some change of thinking in less than 24 hours!
Poor Adebayor would have had to fork out for his flights to Lyon only to find out that the club don't actually wanted!
