People Are Pointing Out That Hugo Lloris Accidentally Predicted Spurs Loss

It's pretty awkward that the Spurs goalie didn't realise that he accidentally said Juventus were going to go through.

Spurs got themselves into a seemingly perfect position last night and then it all went wrong. Juve's comeback was a bit of deja vu for many Spurs fans and even it seems for their goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

It's difficult to take away from Spurs how impressive they were over two legs against Juventus in the Champions League last 16 but in the end it proved fruitless as Mauricio Pochettino's side crashed out 4-3 on aggregate at Wembley.

Check out Tottenham's what could have been XI:

The fact they couldn't get it done is becoming a bit of a recurring theme for the north London side. The previous two seasons saw them challenge the Premier League leaders but never being able to get over the line.

They have, perhaps somewhat unfairly, being given the title of bottlers but they aren't really helping themselves. In an interview in the Evening Standard on Wednesday Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris said, 'It is a great moment to show the real face of Tottenham,' and lots of people are saying they did:

Even man of the match Giorgio Chiellini reckoned that the Premier League side's past missed opportunities were partially to blame for them going out last night, although he articulated it far better than just saying 'Spurs are bottlers,' saying:

"Tottenham, it's the history of the Tottenham. They always create many chances and score so much but in the end they miss always something to arrive at the end.

"We believe in the history. Also yesterday in the game between Real Madrid and Paris, the history it's important and the experience is important and tonight we used our skill and arrive at the win.

"Tottenham are on the verge of being able to win this type of game. Sometimes you just need that spark, maybe a trophy win, but we had our experience and made the most of it in these circumstances."

It's just about finding that spark.
