Fans surprised by Bayern Munich's 'final preparations' at their team hotel ahead of Arsenal game

Fans surprised by Bayern Munich's 'final preparations' at their team hotel ahead of Arsenal game

Fans were left surprised by what Bayern did.

Fans were left surprised when Bayern Munich shared footage of their final match preparations ahead of their Champions League clash with Arsenal.

Arsenal welcome Bayern Munich to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening in the first-leg of an eagerly anticipated quarter-final tie.

Arsenal have not featured in the quarter-finals of the Champions League since 2010, and have not reached the semi-finals since 2009.

Bayern have inflicted some heavy defeats on the Gunners in recent years, including two 5-1 thrashings in 2017.

Though history is against Arsenal, this year they head into the tie as favourites.

At home Bayern currently trail runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen by 16 points, whereas the Gunners are locked in a three-way Premier League title race with Manchester City and Liverpool.

Bayern will be looking to upset the form book, something they are certainly capable of doing with Harry Kane leading their attack.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has scored 14 goals in 19 appearances against Arsenal, and is one goal away from becoming the top-scoring away player at the Emirates.

With such a lot at stake for both star-studded teams, fans were left shocked when footage emerged of Bayern's pre-match preparations at their hotel.

On Tuesday afternoon, Bayern's official X account shared a video of the squad warming up in London's Landmark Hotel.

While you might expect Bayern to use state of the art facilities to prepare for such a huge game, the likes of Kane, Leroy Sane and Manuel Neuer were filmed stretching, jogging and playing foot tennis in the Marble Ballroom of the Marylebone hotel.

Fans were confused why Bayern were warming up in a hotel that is costing the club £3,500-per-hour.

"Bro what is this," asked one fan, while another commented, "No wonder we're not winning the league."

A third commenter said, "Lol your team is unserious you are getting cooked," and an Arsenal fan jumped in with "All this just to get humbled by the best team in Europe."

Bayern will have to produce an improved performance to get a result at the Emirates, but they will not have the backing of any supporters after UEFA banned away fans from attending the match.
