Liverpool suffered a late defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in a controversial Premier League encounter - and two international teammates had a spiky online clash after it with a reference to the referring performance.
Curtis Jones was sent off after 26 minutes for a foul on Yves Bissouma, with a red card being produced following VAR intervention - and it would not be the first time the remote official was a talking point.
Not long after going down to 10 men, Liverpool thought they had taken the lead when Luis Diaz slotted home, only to see it ruled out for offside by the linesman, with VAR not getting involved.
However, the PGMOL has subsequently confirmed it was in fact onside, and that the goal should have stood.

Spurs took the lead after Diaz's strike was ruled out when Son Heung-min slotted home, but Liverpool equalised in first half stoppage time thanks to Cody Gakpo's finish on the turn.
Jurgen Klopp's side went down to nine men when Diogo Jota was shown two yellow cards in quick succession with around 20 minutes remaining.
It looked like the spoils were going to be shared, only for Spurs to collect all three points when deep in injury time, Liverpool defender Joel Matip turned Pedro Porro's cross into his own net as Spurs won 2-1.
Spurs defender Cristian Romero took to Instagram to celebrate the dramatic victory and hailed the spirit of his teammates as they picked up three points at the death.

He wrote: "This team has great spirit, great heart. always like this, all together."
However, that post drew the attention of Liverpool midfielder and Romero's Argentina international teammate, Alexis Mac Allister.
In a clear reference to the refereeing performance in the game, with a comment that now appears to have been deleted, Mac Allister wrote 'normal cuando jugas con 12...' in his native Spanish.
This translates as 'normal when you play with 12'.

However, Romero replied bluntly after this by simply saying 'a llorar a casa' - which means 'go cry at home'.
The next Argentina squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Peru later this month is yet to be announced - but it might be a frosty reunion between the duo, if selected, if that exchange is anything to go by.
