The reason why Julian Nagelsmann reportedly withdrew from the running to become the new Chelsea manager has been revealed.
The Blues appointed Frank Lampard as their caretaker manager until the end of the season following the dismissal of Graham Potter.
A host of top managers have been linked with the permanent job, including Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Vincent Kompany, who has worked wonders at Burnley in the Championship this term.

Nagelsmann, who was ruthlessly sacked by Bayern Munich last month, had been in contention to replace Potter until reports claimed he pulled out of the running.
According to Sport1, the 35-year-old removed himself from the running to become the next Chelsea boss because he wants a 'project that is on solid ground' and the backroom chaos has put him off managing at Stamford Bridge.
He also dismissed claims he had cancelled a further round of talks with Chelsea chiefs. Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, he said: "To cancel something, you have to commit to something first."

Boehly will be hoping for stability for the start of next season as he looks appoint a new manager ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
