CONMEBOL Set To Award Chapecoense With Copa Sudamericana Trophy

The footballing community continues to mourn the tragic events in Medellin, Colombia, where a plane carrying the Chapecoense players and staff crashed taking the lives of 71 people.

The crash devastated the Brazilian team on the eve of their Copa Sudamerica final with Atletico Nacional. But according to reports in Brazil, CONMEBOL have obliged Atletico Nacional's incredible gesture by declaring Chapecoense as Copa Sudamericana champions.

What's more, Chape will now be eligible to play in the Copa Libertadores next season. Furthermore, considering the national mourning in Brazil, the South American authorities are respecting that by holding fire on an official announcement.

What an amazing gesture by both parties!
