Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva could be forced to retire this summer after tests revealed he may suffer from a serious heart condition, according to reports in Spain.
The 23-year-old Brazilian under-21 international has been at Real Madrid since 2013, having arrived from hometown club Cruzeiro for a fee around £10 million.
He struggled to get into the Los Blancos starting line-up initially, and ended up on-loan to French side Marseille last season, and was expected to move on another one-year loan basis to Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon this summer.
But, according to Spanish newspaper AS, Silva failed the medical, with Sporting's doctors finding signs of a heart condition which could force Silva to hang up his boots.

It's thought Silva will now return to Spain for a second opinion, and to consult with his family and friends before making a decision.
But what a shame it would be for such a talented, promising player to have to retire so young.
Here's Silva's Instagram page , with the following quote on the page's header:
We wish you all the best in the future, Lucas.
