As emotional as his Bombonera farewell to Boca Juniors was, we doubt Carlos Tevez is shedding many tears now he's become the highest paid player in world football, following his move to Shanghai Shenhua of the Chinese Super League.
The move will see the former Juventus, Manchester City and United striker pocket an eye watering £34.4m per season.

When broken down, Tevez's salary works out at £615,000 a week or, if you want to go a little bit further with the analysis, Tevez's £34.4m earnings (BEFORE BONUSES) works out at roughly:
- £63,960,000 over the course of his two year contract
- £2,767,500 a month
- £87,857 a day
- £3,660 an hour
- £61 a minute
- £1.01 a second
To put this Scrooge McDuck sort of wealth into some sort of context, if Tevez got his full eight hours sleep every night, he'd wake up £29,285 richer. The average monthly wage in Shanghai is currently 5,891 yuan, which translates to somewhere in the region of £690. Or, if your Carlos Tevez, that's what you'll earn in just over 10 minutes.
But ask yourselves, is he really happy?
