Neutrals around the world that have no vested interest in Arsenal will be hoping that Arsene Wenger will be signing a new contract just because the reaction of the Arsenal Fan TV boys will be hilarious. And unfortunately for them reports say Wenger has plans for new players in the summer.
Somehow Arsenal's usual season formula has once again repeated itself. Fans get excited before the season starts that they could win the league, start well to build up hope, stumble in November before getting things back together around Christmas, crumble in February/March, get knocked out of Europe by Bayern and recover to restore hope.
This season the Gunners kicked things off a little early when their loss to Watford in January pretty much killed all hope of winning the Premier League this season and then they went extra big on their Champions League dismissal.

For once the Emirates club managed to finish top of their group thus finally avoiding one of Europe's best teams, only that didn't work out as they drew Bayern yet again! Then they lost 5-1 in both legs to be embarrassed 10-2.
Arsenal Fan TV have gone really heavy on getting rid of Wenger but according to the Mirror their manager is eyeing up a summer move for Celtic left back Kieran Tierney as a replacement for Nacho Monreal.
It's likely that should he stay on for another season, or two, Wenger will be hoping to buy quite big in order to give it one last push for the Premier League, which he might be helped with should his side finish outside of Champions League qualification.

A number of players are also likely to be sold and Wenger reckons that Tierney could do a good job in replacing Monreal, with the Spaniard likely to head home for the Iberian peninsular.
The Arsenal board have reportedly offered their manager a two year extension to the deal that ends in the summer. There have been contracting reports but the latest reckons that the 67 year old will sign for one more season.
Arsenal scouts will have seen Tierney a number of times when also going to see Moussa Dembele, the highly rated Celtic striker.
