The Irish Grand National is the highlight of today's card at Fairyhouse.

However, we've got race-by-race selections for a cracking card.

Let's hope for some winners...

Patriot to fly flag at Fairyhouse

2:45: Fairyhouse - Jezki 13/8.

Jessica Harrington's charge ran well at Cheltenham for a long way in the Stayers' Hurdle over three miles but is the class horse in this race and should really appreciate the drop down to two miles.

3:15: Fairyhouse - Ex Patriot 15/8 NAP.

Ellmarie Holden and Rachael Blackmore are in a rich vein of form this season and Ex Patriot ran a cracker to finish fourth in the Triumph Hurdle last time. I interviewed Rachael after the race and she was full of praise for the gelding who had also unshipped her at the start. That form is better than Project Bluebook's Fred Winter fourth and this four-year-old son of Elusive Pimpernel should get back to winning ways here.

3:50: Fairyhouse - Sonny B 12/1 Each Way and Chain Gang 10/1 Each Way (1/4).

A winner of two handicap hurdles last season, Sonny B has to bounce back from some below par runs this season. He has never raced on god ground but being by Spadoun, he should cope with it and he does look interesting off what looks an OK mark.

Chain Gang is also interesting for his canny handler Alan Fleming. Third in a handicap hurdle last time, he has to reverse form with Rathpatrick, but this looks a workable hurdles mark of 123 and he arguably ran in a better race than this at Haydock in February.

4:25: Fairyhouse - Sutton Place 5/6.

Hard to look pass Gordon Elliott's charge who missed the Cheltenham Festival and was very impressive in two victories at Naas and Navan earlier this year. He looks a horse to keep on side for the future and can win this.

5:00: Fairyhouse - Abolitionist 16/1 Each Way and Oscar Knight 16/1 Each Way (1/4, 5 places)

(Already advised Our Duke and Fletchers Flyer in our Ante-Post preview here).

I'm huge fan of the Holden-Blackmore partnership and they team up with Abolitionist who was very gutsy when winning the Leinster National. He has to shoulder a rise in the weights here but he has marathon form in the book which is always a plus.

Oscar Knight is a horse I've been watching all year and whilst he was disappointing when jumping with no real at Navan in March. Connections went back to that venue earlier this term for a hurdles run which should have livened him up and given he carries just 10-1, he is interesting in what looks a cracking edition of the three mile and five furlong event.

5:35: Fairyhouse - Slowmotion 5/2.

Joseph O'Brien's charge is usually a pretty good jumper and two miles and four furlongs should be within her compass. I'm keen to take on the favourite as I wasn't sure she was going to win last time and was fortunate that her rival there (Keppols Queen, runs again today) fell at the last, whilst she also has to give plenty of weight to the selection in a really interesting race.

6:10: Fairyhouse - Bright Tomorrow 11/2 Each Way (1/4).

Jessica Harrington's horses are in superb form and she does especially well with her handicap horses and Bright Tomorrow holds a good chase based on the mark he's been given for a novice chase win at Down Royal in March.

6:40: Fairyhouse - Samcro 8/11.

Gordon Elliott's charge has not been mightily impressive in landing his first two starts under rules but cost a lot of money and connections will be hoping for a victory here before he goes on to better things next season.

8/1 Win Treble
