Former WWE superstar Eric Young suffered one of the most horrific injuries in recent memory during a Full Metal Mayhem match on Sunday evening.
The 44-year-old is back with TNA (Total Nonstop Action), where he has won a total of 14 championships across three different spells.
In his most recent match, Young squared off against Frankie Kazarian in the brutal hardcore bout at the Rebellion pay-per-view at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
The pair left it all in the ring in the 15-minute war but Young came off worse than his opponent after a terrifying table spot.

Kazarian used his Flux Capacitor move on Young from the top rope but they did not go crashing through the table.
Instead, Young caught his ear on the edge of the table and blood began to gush.
Thanks to some quick-thinking by the referee, Young finished the match in a losing effort and it was later confirmed that his ear had become severed and needed to be re-attached by a plastic surgeon.
TNA delivered a medical update on a number of wrestlers social media following the event, including the likes of Josh Alexander and Brian Mayers.

On Young Gia Miller said: "Eric Young suffered a severe laceration to the ear. He did see a local plastic surgeon who attached the severed ear."
The promotion have tapings at the same venue on Monday but Young is not medically cleared to compete following the accident.
Young himself has not commented on the injury at the time of writing.

The Canadian started with TNA in 2004 and stayed with the company until 2016, when he signed with WWE.
Leading the Sanity stable, Young won the NXT Tag Team titles and enjoyed a four-year spell before being released in 2020.
He headed back to TNA that same year for a two-year stint and returned again earlier this year following a brief and unsuccessful period back in WWE.
