Yet another big name player in the world of football appears have been lured by the financial power of the Chinese Super League.

Oscar went for a massive £52 million and wages said to be around £400,000 and Carlos Tevez followed suit, joining Shanghai Shenhua and earning a ridiculous £615,000 a week in the process - making him the world's highest-paid player.

A host of other players such as Arda Turan and Pepe have been linked, while it has emerged that Cristiano Ronaldo received a mega offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League club.

And now Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel is poised to play in the Chinese Super League.

Various reports have said the Zenit man will join Fabio Cannavaro's Tianjin Quanjian instead of Juventus and is set to rake in around 18 million euros a year, which would make him the seventh highest-paid player in world football.

Some reports from Italy, namely from respected journalists Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio, claim that the deal for Witsel to China is done and dusted.
